I will never shop here again. Dec. 2016 while I was Christmas shopping I was being uncomfortably followed around through the small store by sales associates before being told by the GM (Mike T) that he was "going to call the police if I was stealing anything". He based this off of a customer who claimed to see me put "something" in my bag. I work in the same plaza as this store and I have been a customer for years. I was the only African American in the store and I felt targeted based of off no real evidence even though the store has cameras, just like my store, that can be checked and should have been checked before he threatened to call police. I went back to the store to tell the GM that I didn't appreciate how he handled it and he was dismissive, defensive, and unapologetic. The distasteful experience is enough for me to never enter that store again. From the stand point of someone who works in retail and studies business in college this GM was completely unprofessional. Consider this long-term customer lost.

If you'd love to let down your neice or nephew with a card explaining why you DON'T have the Modell's gift card they requested, then please, do buy a Modells gift card! Let's see, after buying one mid-December, and getting my Walmart gift card 2 days later- purchased the same evening as one from Modells, it is January 9, 2017, and no card. 3 emails later, one notice- may be lost in the mail, and we will FedEx it- that was a week ago- no card. 2 more emails about it, and no response yet. This store deserves to fail, and be closed, because the most basic customer service is lacking, and thay (literally) do not deliver. Next time I will just go into a Sears and buy the card in person there. Bye bye Modells, you suck!

Still waiting for my son's last Christmas gift that was ordered 12-13-16

I ordered a Michigan tailgate table and a shirt at the same time that were going to arrive before Christmas. Well, the shirt arrived on the 22nd and the table still has not. I sent SEVERAL e-mails and have made three phone calls to Modell's now and they are very evasive and have zero answers for me. The last I've heard was 4 days ago when they said "I have contacted the vendor again to get an update for you." I'm assuming the vendor must be on Mars or somewhere else in outer space because there is nowhere on this planet that takes 4 days to contact! I just want the item that I paid for, is that too much to ask?

On 12/14/16 I purchased a Golden State Warriors Jersey from your website. On 12/16/16 I was notified by Fedex that the order was delivered, however no package was ever received at the address provided. I contacted the customer service representative 12/18/16 and informed them that I never received the package. The customer service representative was very rude, short in her responses and very inconsiderate. I understand that mistakes happen, I just wanted to know my options. I literally had to call back three times for assistance and ended up repurchasing the order at full price. The last representative that I spoke with told me that was my best option and that a ticket was created and someone would call me back in a few days.

Terrible Customer Service

Placed this order on 12/14. Website said that if placed before 12/16 that with standard shipping the order would arrive by Christmas. Got an email on 12/19 saying that it was shipped, but wouldn't arrive until 12/27. Called immediately and was transferred to the shipping dept. Wait time was 45+ minutes, so recommended leaving a message, which I did. Was told would receive response in 24 hours. Also went online and sent an email at the same time. No response to either after 24 hours, so did the same thing again. Still no response. Package arrived 12/28. If you are not going to honor what you put on the website, why put it there? And at the very least someone calling me or responding to my email would have gone a long ways to easing my frustration at not getting a package that was for Christmas. But no response at all to 2 voice messages and 2 emails is very unprofessional. Definitely will NOT be using this website again, nor recommending it to anyone either.

Do the right thing Modells

After hearing about the nationwide Swagway X-1 recall I immediately called the local Modells that my daughter purchased her hoverboard from. Keep in mind this is an 11 year old that saved all of her gift money to purchase this trending item. I was immediately told that they would not refund the item, and to call customer service, which I did. Customer service referred me to the manufacturer which informed me that they would only offer to repair the faulty lithium battery with a "Safer" option... safer???? NO thanks, or issue me a credit to buy another one of their toys. Again, no thank you! Shame on both the manufacturer and shame on YOU Modells for not doing the right thing for your customers. If you arent willing to return the product for the original $400.00 paid, how about issuing a store credit? I guess "good customer service" no longer has a meaning.Yet another reason why your stores are being run out of town by retail chains with integrity What a life lesson my child has learned!!

Horrible Customer service. Horrible manager. My 7 year old daughter got roller blades from her dad for her birthday. Come to find out it was a little small. Went to Modells in Cambridge initially that kid was a total *** in regards to helping me find a bigger size. Called Fellsway Modells and a guy with dreads was able to refund the money onto their gift card and reorder a larger size to be shipped to the store. A few days later a receive a call stating that my package has arrived. Went to go pick up the package just to find out as i'm leaving the store that it's the same *** size that i had returned in the first place. Was very upset and time limited as my kids bday was close. Manager stated that the money got refunded to the gift card but it would take a few business days before it may return than they can order the correct size. I never been so upset in my life. If you'd care about the customer, you would have exchanged for the correct size as the screw up was on your end not mine. She had the nerves to say do you want to come back another day. No i don't want to come back and spend another 30 mins for something you guys did and this *** company messed up on. Never ever will i have ever do any business with this company again. Stuck waiting for this money to return so i can reorder from them as the money has been refunded to their *** store gift card. My kid now won't have her roller blades for her bday. Good job Modells.

Modells Swagway Hoverboard Recall

Modells' is choosing not to do anything about the current recall of the Swagway hoverboards they sold. They made a profit from each sale and now there answer to this problem is to say, "Call Swagway."

Swagway wants the customer to send in the hoverboard so they can change a battery. This is not the entire problem. The problem is with the design. This is unacceptable.

I will never shop at Modells and look forward to the day when I hear that they and Swagway go out of business.

Modells, take a page from Amazon and treat your customers like you care about them!

They refunded every customer all of their money to rectify this problem.

Same thing happened to me, the Swagway stopped working within the first few days of purchase. It didn't even leave the house.

Model's said send it back to Swagway, no returns to the store. So my son went almost 2 months without his Christmas present while we were waiting for Swagway to fix it. Then with all the fires, it remained in the box. I'd rather not burn my house down or worse by allowing my son to use it.

Modell's should be ashamed of itself for not standing by the defective Swagways it sold. I will happily never buy at Modell's again, only Amazon!

Same situation dealing with Modells. I have been a shopper with them for decades-NO MORE.

It's very clear on how they do business. Purchased an X1 at one of their Long Island locations and contacted them regading the recall. They responded with the "contact Swagway." Wonderful-I can have the battery replaced and no guarantee it wont burn my house down or receive a $200 credit. WOW what a deal.

So Modells who sold this product-pockets over $400 per unit and turns its head away from loyal customers unlike Amazon, Target and some other retailers. If they don't change this policy-it's going to financially hurt them as they most likely they sold thousands of these units.

I purchased Swagway X1 from Modell's and have had the same experience w/ regard to the return of the Swagway. They advised me to contact Swagway directly.

They don't want to accept any responsibility for selling a defective product. I bought the Swagway from Modell's and that's where I should be able to return it.

I also will never buy from Modell's again.

I ordered a hoverboard from Modell's last week. My item was supposed to be shipped today, however I was informed at 8:00 last night that a signature was required.

I contacted Fedex who led me to Modell's because they could switch the address for me so I could receive the item - which was absolutely no help. Anytime I have purchased items and a signature was required I was always informed before shipping so I could arrange for the item to be shipped at a location where someone would be present. Customer service was basically saying "Well that's just how it is, and we aren't going to go out of our way to help you at all."

This whole issue could have been resolved easily. I am at work and the customer service rep could have simply called Fedex and asked to ship to this address.

If your going to have a statement showing " willing to go that extra step to guarantee complete customer satisfaction" then a good start would be to do the small things that make a difference. I have never ordered from Modell's before - but I won't now ever again.

I'm a very observant individual. The manager at this location (Ray) walks around with a very mean straight face like he doesn't want to be at his job. I asked him a question about a footwear item and he just pointed his finger to the direction, speaking in a unpleasant tone. So instead of showing me where they were, I had to ask another associate for help. I over heard 3 associates standing around footwear speaking of the management in the building. It is very upsetting to hear they aren't pleased with their leaders. I didn't purchase anything but the store itself was great. Modell's needs better leaders with smiley faces and better attitudes.

Ordered item on June 5th. It is now June 14th. I have been calling customer service for the last 4 business days. Everyday they say that they are waiting for a response from the shipping department. Today when I call they tell me that the order has been cancelled due to the item not being in stock. Yet they are still trying to charge my credit card. Customer service there is awful. Shipping department must not know anything. My recommendation DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!

I brought a pair of underarmour sweats and a Jordan shirt , when I returned i needed a different size, mind you this was all in the same day literally 4 hours later to return to the store and be fronted by 2 inconsiderate cashiers informing me that unless I have a receipt I cannot return the item not even for a refund. All I wanted was a different size so I called the manager and as he was walking over he was shaking his head and as he stood in front of me he said normally I would not do this without a receipt and if I don't iam the bad guy so I will do it this time like he is doing me a favor after spending 80 on clothes he has the balls to say next time I will not be so nice, and I said well don't worry last time I buy anything in this places location is modells on south Ave in Staten Island.

It's called customer service modells really needs to send their employees to charm school and how to treat customers especially when I was the only customer in the store, modells needs all the customers they can get m, but one thing is for sure looks like *** sporting goods is where I'll be headed. Thanks for nothing

I order some work boots online and when i order them i was told i would get them in 5 to 7 days that was a lie. Here it is 11 days later and still nothing the tracking number they gave with fed ex didnt deliver it to the shipping address they took it to the post office and now i have to take a day off work to go pick them up . So i got to lose a day pay to get something that Modells should have in their store if they selling online. So i telling who ever read this Dont Order From Modells Online. Find it on the brand web site and order from the company and not Modells...they know how to get in your pockets twice... SMDH

Will Not let Me return Swagway.....

It seems Modell's has no problem selling defective items but will not let you return them for the same item or you $$ back... Obviously they do not back up the products sold in their stores.

I suggest anyone that has the same problem I do with their Swagway purchase at Modell's to post it here and let's all file a class action lawsuit AGAINST SWAGWAY AND MODELL'S!! One of the reason's I bought it at Modell's was so if there was something wrong I could return it... Modell's took my $$ and sold me a defective Swagway... They should return me my $$ and they can deal with their vendor...

Why should I have to... Swagway will not even get back to me, so now my son is stuck without a XMAS present and I am out over $400 bucks???

REALLY SAD MODELL'S !!!

I also had the same problem and my son had his swagway for 10 min before it started bashing him in the ankle spinning uncontrollably. Modells will not take it back so I sent it to swagway to be fixed but now I read an article that they are extremely dangerous and NON of the Hoover boards currently out there are safe to use and are not passed as a safe product and if they catch you trying to sell it on eBay or Craigslist it is a federal offense!!!!

I purchased a sweatshirt for a xmas present in the beginning of Dec. My package has since been shipped all over the place. It started in te Bronx, went to Pennslvania to Massachuttes, to Albany, to connitcut to new jersey. I am being told it should be here by xmas which wont help me since i am traveling for the holidays. The customer services was terrible.nothing but corporate ***.....will never shop modells online or in store. Buyer beware they dont back their shipping guidelines.
